Join Rachel Bruhnke for her magnificent book —The Cold War Truth Commission—that compiles the testimonies of more than 50 people to challenge the anti-communist, anti-Black, anti-trade union, anti-woman, anti-peace Cold War waged by the United States shortly after World War II (1945). The Cold War represented the treachery of the United States after the war where it turned on the Soviet Union and the world communist movement and re-aligned with fascists, war criminals, and genocidal forces all over the world. It was finally ended by the U.S. defeat in Korea, the victory of the Chinese Revolution, the publication of We Charge Genocide—The Crimes of the United States Government Against the Negro People, the Vietnamese communists’ defeat of the French at Dien Bien Phu, the mass outrage of the Democratic Party murder of Emmett Till, the Montgomery Bus Boycott, the student protests against the House Un-American Activities Committee and the Bandung Conference of Non-Aligned Nations.
But U.S. fascism in the U.S. white settler state never dies. It often comes back meaner and more determined. That is our challenge today. I’ll try to lay out some elements of a resistance in the next flyer. For now, this event and Rachel’s book is an important part of the resistance.
Rachel Bruhnke has done a magnificent job initiating this process and turning the transcripts into a book. Big shout of to Frank Dorel, author of Addicted to war, CODE PINK San Pedro, and CODEPINK for encourage this process.
